ZEND
ZEND staking is a crucial mechanism within the protocol designed to enhance asset security and contribute to its decentralization roadmap. By staking ZEND tokens, holders can allocate their assets to zkLend’s safety module, which acts as a risk mitigation tool against potential bad debts arising from market volatility. In return for their participation, stakers earn rewards based on the amount of ZEND they stake, effectively receiving a share of the protocol's emissions.
How ZEND staking works?
Upon staking ZEND, users will receive an equivalent amount of staked ZEND, which represents their claim to the underlying tokens.
Rewards are calculated in real-time and can be claimed at any time.
To unstake, users must manually initiate the process in the same dapp section, with a 7-day cooldown period during which the unstaked tokens will be locked and ineligible for rewards. After this period, users can withdraw their ZEND without any penalties.
Staking Reward Emissions
The staking rewards are determined by a fixed weekly emission schedule that may be adjusted based on the total amount staked and the staking cap. Initially set at 4,807 ZEND per week, this structure allows for an estimated 25% APY if an average of 1 million ZEND is staked. A cap of 2.5 million ZEND ensures that stakers maintain a minimum APY of 10%.
